Is there anything better than the weekend? Ok, maybe we can think of a few things, but that’s not the point. The point is that you’re off from work, ready to relax, have some fun and more – and that includes celebrating the new year again – Chinese New Year, that is.

Here’s what else you need to know:

1. The Chinese American Association of North Hempstead wll celebrate its 11th Annual Chinese New Year at Herricks High School tonight from 7 to 10 p.m.

2. Holy Spirit Church is hosting an oldies concert/ Valentine’s Day dance at 6 p.m. tonight featuring a variety of bands and dinner. Tickets cost $35 each.
