Jan. 31: Basketball, Bollywood and a Flick
Here are some of the events going on around New Hyde Park.
What a Tuesday’s it’s going to be! And we’re not even mid-way through the week yet! There’s a ton of action on the hardwood today as well as a chance for you to express yourself about what will happen over at the Nassau Hub. Or, if comedy’s more your thing, how about heading off to the movies for a matinee?
Here’s what else you need to know:
1. It’s a great day of basketball as three local teams are in action today. New Hyde Park and Roslyn will square off as the boys host at New Hyde Park Memorial at 4:30 p.m. while the Lady Gladiators will head up north to play at Roslyn High School at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile Herricks will face off against Longbeach as the Lady Highlanders will travel all the way to Long Beach for a 5 p.m. match.
2. Nassau residents will have a chance to weigh in on various sustainable transit options for the county beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the County Legislative building as well as share their ideas.
3. The Young Indian Cultural Society in Herricks has been helping to spread Indian culture to the community. Find out how they succeed in our story coming up later today!
4. In the mood for a flick? Head over to the Hillside Library for an afternoon showing of “The Dilemma” starring Kevin James and Vince Vaughn.
