A Floral Park man was killed Tuesday when his car crashed into a building on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, Michael P. Dunne, 41, was traveling west on Jericho Turnpike in a 2002 Toyota Corolla when his vehicle crossed the double yellow lines into the eastbound lanes.
The vehicle then struck the building, Jamaica Bearings, at 1700 Jericho Turnpike, on the south side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries reported and the investigation is ongoing.

Traffic was blocked for several blocks on Jericho Turnpike while police investigated the accident. Vehicles were rerouted onto Leonard Boulevard and New Hyde Park Road before Jericho reopened at midday.
