Schimel’s Office Collects 200 Pounds of Food for Hungry

Items collected curing Hearts for Hunger Food Drive to help benefit "Long Island Cares" food bank.

New York State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel recently partnered with Long Island Cares to sponsor the first annual Hearts for Hunger Food Drive in the 16th Assembly District.

During the drive, Assemblywoman Schimel’s office helped collect 200 pounds of non-perishable foods, personal care items, baby products, pet food, first aid, and school supplies from locations throughout her district including her District Office in Great Neck, the Great Neck Senior Center, the , and the .

Assemblywoman Schimel would like to thank everyone who donated and looks forward to hosting more district-wide food drives with Long Island Cares.
