Towey and Priest Garner All-County, Conference Honors

New Hyde Park Memorial players take home plaques for 2011-12 season.

basketball players Kevin Towey and Adam Priest were honored for their accomplishments on the court and in the classroom Wednesday night, receiving awards as part of the Nassau County Boys High School Basketball Coaches Association awards dinner.

Towey received all-county status for his performance on the court, consistently being the highest scorer on the Gladiator squad during the 2011-12 season, including a buzzer-beating field goal for a 55-54 win against Garden City to end the regular season.

Priest was named as an all-conference player and scholar-athlete . He had a season-high 26 points in the finals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Herricks against Valley Stream North and garnered tournament MVP honors.

The Gladiators finished fifth in conference A-1 in the 2011-12 season with a 3-7 record and were 10-7 overall.
