Little Graduates of Community Church Nursery School

The Garden City Community Church Nursery School (CCNS) had an exciting "Graduation" Day Program for 40 young students.

"Graduations are always bittersweet, especially for us in nursery school.  We've seen our students start with us as babies and are now sending them off to the big world of kindergarten.  We are very proud of all of them," said Cathie McCullough, director.

Two morning pre-K classes, the Robins, led by Janet Rosano and Rosemarie Muscarella, and the Canaries with Christine Trenkle and Joanne Lisi graduated in the morning program

In the afternoon the Woodpeckers, led by Christine Trenkle and Carolyn Herbst graduated in the Sanctuary.

The children entertained their families and friends in the church sanctuary with their musical program, "Make a Joyful Noise," accompanied by music director, Janet Rosano.

Also joining each group for a “moving up” that day were the three-year-old Bluebirds with Carolyn Herbst and Kathy Hughes and the Sparrows, led by Emily Tanella and Michelle Capoziello in the morning. The Cardinals with Kathy Hughes and Emily Tanella moved up in the afternoon.

After each ceremony everyone headed outside to the sun-filled playground for a reception.  Families made treats to share. The children enjoyed climbing one last time on the play equipment, making music on the outdoor percussive instruments and playing with friends and family.

The Nursery School currently has limited openings for three and four-year-olds for the fall.

The Community Church Nursery School is located in the Garden City Community Church at 245 Stewart Avenue, corner of Whitehall Boulevard.
