North Hempstead Crews Assessing Damage

In the aftermath of , all of the "assets and personnel that could be marshaled were deployed and as of now, work crews are out in full force carrying out the process of assessment and cleanup," according to a statement from the Town.

"Supervisor Jon Kaiman and North Hempstead Public Safety Commissioner Andy DeMartin survey the flood damage left by Hurricane Irene," According to a press release. "North Hempstead’s 311 Call Center was staffed around-the-clock for 24 hours over the weekend, responding to over 3,000 resident inquiries in just two days."
