There is a Thanksgiving essay contest sponsored by State Senator Jack Martins.
The contest is open to all sixth grade students in the Seventh Senate District who are asked to answer the question, “What are you most thankful for?”
The essays should be limited to 250 words. There will be a winner chosen from each school. Winners will receive a Certificate of Achievement, which will be presented at a special reception.
To enter, visit Senator Martins’ website at martins.nysenate.gov and click on the banner on the left hand side to download an entry form. All essays should be mailed to Senator Martins’ District Office at 151 Herricks Road, Suite 202, Garden City Park, NY 11040 and include the student’s name and school. “It is my hope that our students will share their insights by writing about what it is they want to give thanks to this coming holiday,” Senator Martins said.
The deadline for entry is Nov. 10.
