Cool Off and Help Cure Childhood Cancer

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is teaming up with Applebee’s in New Hyde Park throughout July in an effort to raise funds to help cure pediatric cancer. Applebee’s restaurants throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties will raise funds now through July 31 in support of ALSF by donating $.25 from each lemonade sold (all varieties) through their Summer Squeeze® promotion to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

In addition, Applebee’s guests will also have the opportunity to donate to ALSF through the purchase of paper lemons to be displayed on the restaurants’ walls in support of childhood cancer research.

2013 marks the ninth consecutive year that Applebee’s franchisees have supported Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Applebee's is thrilled to announce a record $500,000 in fundraising proceeds generated in 2012 and over $3.2 million raised since 2005.

This year, more than 700 restaurants nationwide, including Applebee’s on Long Island will raise funds to help cure pediatric cancer with a goal of reaching the $5 million mark in funds raised.

“We’re encouraging people to cool down while helping a good cause,” says Marc Prince, Director of Operations for the Long Island Applebee’s restaurants.
