OCLI Provides Free Dry Eye Screenings at Town of Hempstead's Senior Health & Wellness Fair

Dry eye disease is the most common reason why patients visit their doctor. It affects more than 100 million people worldwide and is often under-recognized and under-diagnosed.  Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island  (OCLI) was on hand at the Town of Hempstead Senior Health & Wellness Fair in Lido Beach to provide dry eye screenings to the hundreds of seniors that attended the event. Dr. JoAnn Chang, who recently joined OCLI, was one of the guest lecturers. She spoke about cataracts, how to maintain optimum eye health and the latest advancements in treating cataracts. Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray welcomed hundreds of senior citizens to this year’s Health and Wellness Fair, an annual event that takes place in June at Lido Beach Town Park. The fair offered a number of free health screenings, important medical and financial-related information and referral services to senior residents.
