United Way of Long Island Awards JASA (Jewish Association Serving the Aging) $9,600 Grant to Help Support Long Island Community Programs
The United Way of Long Island recently presented JASA with a $9,600 grant to help forward the agency’s community initiatives and improve the services they offer to Long Islanders. The grant has loyally been provided to JASA since 1999 by the United Way of Long Island funding various programs. This year, the funds will assist JASA’s Social Adult Day Care Program (SADC), a program that provides seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and other cognitive impairments with mental and physical activities to further socialization and movement, as well as provide respite to the attendees’ caregivers.
“We couldn’t do the work that we do without our community partner agencies and the contributions they make to the residents of Long Island," said Theresa Regnante, President & CEO of United Way of Long Island.
“On behalf of JASA, we would like to thank the United Way of Long Island for their continued support in our efforts. They are a true partner in helping JASA sustain and enrich the lives of the aging in the New York area,” said Jolene Boden, Long Island District Director and Director of SADC for JASA.
