Bosworth Honors "M&M Sisters" for Women's History Month

Marianna Wohlgemuth and Marietta DiCamillo recognized as 10th District's 'Trailblazers' for 2013.

Legislator Judi Bosworth, D-Great Neck, recently honored New Hyde Park residents Marianna Wohlgemuth and Marietta DiCamillo on March 18 at the 15th Annual Trailblazers Awards Ceremony at the chambers of the Nassau County Legislature.

Wohlgemuth and DiCamillo are both presidents of their local civic associations (Lakeville Estates Civic Association and North Lakeville Civic Association, respectively), are active with the Great Neck Library Board (where Marietta recently was elected president) and participate in a myriad of environmental and conservation causes.

As part of Women’s History Month, the county legislators honor outstanding women in their legislative districts who have “blazed trails” through the wonderful work they do in their communities.

“Marianna Wohlgemuth and Marietta DiCamillo, affectionately known as the ‘M&M Sisters,’ have been a steady and dedicated presence in our community since the early 1990’s,” Bosworth commented. “Just as studies have indicated that one of the components of a successful school district is parent involvement, I believe a community or local government can only be successful when there is significant civic involvement. Marianna and Marietta are staunch advocates for the communities in which they reside. We honor their spirit, their intelligence and their drive in naming them Trailblazers for the 10th Legislative District.”
