Business Honor Society Students Reach Out to Community
New Hyde Park Memorial students spend day volunteering at homeless shelter.
Members of the Business Honor Society used their winter break vacation to help others.
On February 21, seven students spent the day at the Mary Brennan Shelter in Hempstead preparing and serving food to some of the 400 daily visitors to the shelter while others sorted through clothing and food donations.
“It was a wonderful experience,” student Dana Davis said. “It felt good knowing that we helped others less fortunate than ourselves.”
