The Friends are looking for new members.

The annual Friends of the Library meeting was held Tuesday evening at the to discuss recent fundraising efforts and membership expansion.

The Friends of the Library host fundraiser events to provide utlities and needs for the Hillside Public Library that the library's budget can't cover. Recently, the Friends were able to raise enough money to provide an overhead projector that the library will use to show films.

"Our fundraisers are very successful," Burns said. "We just would like more people to join. It's their library and if we had more people to join, we could fund more programs."

Membership to the Friends of the Library is $5 a year and responsibilities include volunteer work that benefits the growth and maintenance of Hillside Public Library.

"Why we're so successful is that the people that do volunteer, like what they're volunteering for," Burns explained. "It works out really well."
