Guests were invited to bring their own china teacup and saucer from home.  The meeting room was transformed with tablecloths, center pieces, beautiful plates and napkins as well as a display of raffle prizes.  Han-made paper flower sconces adorned the walls, made by Friends member Karen Delotta.

Many of the party-goers were Friends members although there were also outside guests.

Florence Horton recently joined the Friends after having been a member of the book club for some time.  She enjoyed the homemade scones.

Lifetime Friends member Cathy Shor attended the Tea with her mother and brought matching china cups.

"It's really a nice event," she said. "Everyone has a nice time, meeting other people from the community."

Byrnes noted that the annual Tea is always a popular event.

"Each year we have to turn people away; tickets sell out very quickly," Byrnes said. "And all our raffle prizes are donated, many by our Friends members or from local merchants."
