Garden City Park Civic Discusses Passive Park

The Garden City Park civic association received a grant of $5,000 from in 2008 to help with a passive park but they need to speak to the community more and get some additional help before the park can move forward.

The park is on Central Avenue and 8th Street where the basin is. President of the Garden City Park Civic Paul Noetzel said a committee would need to be formed and hopes that eventually this will "become another place that people can go."

The group's secretary, , wondered during the meeting whether they might have to re-apply for the grant money. She added after the meeting that this is a "massive project" and that the civic group needs to talk to members of the community about what they would like to do.
