Garden City Park Water District Redoing Roof

The district is doing work on its roof.

The Garden City Park Water District is doing work on its roof, which is about 40 years old, Superintendent Michael Levy said during a meeting on Wednesday.

There has been significant rotting around the edges and some roof leaks, Levy said. The district is working on adding two new offices to the building, will put a new roof on the whole building and  is adding solar panels.

"We're going to go green a little bit," Levy said.

These changes and repairs will cost $500,000 in total, Levy said, and the work should be completed by the end of September.
