Get Out! New Hyde Park's Weekend Planner for June 17-19

100th anniversary parade, international music night and the homecoming. Pick and choose from the weekend's variety of events.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.


Where/When: ; Friday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: A fun hour long program with toys, puzzles and art fun for kids 12 months to five-years-old with an adult.
Pricing: The program is free to library cardholders.


Where/When: ; Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Why Go: Bring the family down to Tully Park and help the Garden City Park Fire Department celebrate their 100 years of service to the community. There will be plenty of fun and refreshments all weekend, as well as a  parade at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.


Where/When: Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre at Eisenhower Park – Merrick and Stewart  Avenues, East Meadow; Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy great nights outdoors with a fine variety of international music. Friday – African American Night, Saturday – Caribbean American Night and Sunday – Indian American Night.


Where/When: The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island; Saturdays, 8 p.m. and Sundays, 2:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island welcomes you to attend The Homecoming, Harold Pinter’s most controversial and compelling play.
Pricing: $20 suggested donation.
