Get Out! New Hyde Park's Weekend Planner for June 24-26

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Where/When: Garvies Point Museum & Preserve; Friday, 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.
Why Go: The film explores the earth's interrelated ecosystems, various seasons, migration of animals, tours of mountain ranges and more. The movie is about an hour long.



Where/When: Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre at Eisenhower Park – Merrick and Stewart  Avenues, East Meadow; Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy great nights outdoors with a fine variety of international music. Friday – Turkish American Night and Saturday – Italian American Night.


Where/When: Nickerson Beach Park; Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Nickerson Beach Park is open for the summer season.
The beach is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset throughout the summer for you to enjoy the “Fun Zone,” a family-focused recreational site that includes a skate park, basketball courts, and state-of-the-art playground. The park has swimming pools, beach volleyball courts, picnic areas, cabanas, a campground, athletic fields, dog run, and concessions.
Pricing: Daily parking fees are $8 for Leisure Pass holders and $30 for non-Leisure Pass holders; seasonal passes are also available.


Where/When: Old Bethpage Village Restoration; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Old Bethpage Village Restoration will bring you back to the days of cowboy shoot-outs. Don't miss it.
Pricing: $10, adults; $7, children 5 - 12 (under 5 are free); and $7, seniors, volunteer firefighters.


Where/When: ; Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4:45  p.m.
Why Go: There's a sculpture park with more than 50 works of art, walking trails and gardens.
Pricing: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (62+) and $4 for children (members free).
