Where/When: Farmingdale State College; Friday.
Why Go: In recognition of National Drinking Water Week, The Long Island Water Conference is inviting students and the public to sample tap water from several different water suppliers and vote on which tastes best. More than two-dozen water suppliers from across Long Island will participate and a press conference will announce the winner of the tasting contest.
Pricing: Participation is free.
Where/When: Cradle of Aviation; Friday, 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Why Go: The film is about Storm Chasers star Sean Casey and the researchers of VORTEX 2. It chronicles heir extreme efforts to understand the origins and evolution of tornadoes.

Why Go: Start your weekend off by raising your heart rate. Put on some comfortable clothes, grab a bottle of water and head to the library to break a sweat.

Why Go: Flowers in Bloom – Friday, 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Create a basket full of beautiful blooming flowers using cut paper and other exciting materials.
Where/When: Chelsea Mansion; Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Travel back to the year 1627 and join the King of France as he hosts a grand festival in honor of May Day. The event includes a Maypole dance, martial demonstrations and swordplay, a fashion show depicting styles of the Tudor through Cavalier eras, demonstrations of period crafts, children's games, archery, and a unique marketplace.
Pricing: $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-12, and children under 4 are free.
