Get Out! Weekend Planner for April 1 to April 3

Civil War Reenactment, blood drive and women's seder – pick and choose from this weekend's array of events.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.


Where/When: ; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War the “soldiers” of the 14th Brooklyn Regiment, dressed in Civil War uniforms, engage in wartime reenactments circa 1861.
Pricing: $7 for children ages five through 12 (those under five are free), seniors and volunteer firefighters; and $10 for adults.



Where/When: ; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: It’s never too early for higher education. Hofstra Saturday classes are for children in kindergarten to eighth grades.
Pricing: $525 for a 10-week series.

Where/When: ; Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Red Cross will be hosting it’s first Long Island Blood Drive. Come down in support and donate blood.


Where/When: ; Sunday, 12:30 p.m. 
Why Go: In addition to a traditional seder, there will be singing, dancing and great conversation with women of all ages.
Pricing: $18, free for those 17-years-old and under.

Where/When: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Central Nassau; Sunday, 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Why Go: Support local farmers and stock up on colorful produce, hearty meat, fresh baked breads, cheeses and wine. There will also be crafts and entertainment for you and your family to enjoy.
