Get Out! Weekend Planner for March 18 through March 20

"Cabaret", Save-A-Life Saturday and "Circus Fun". Choose from this weekend's array of events.

It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.


Where/When: ; Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m.
Why Go: Spend a night enjoying music and dance with Nassau Community College’s theatre and dance department as they present the musical “Cabaret”.
Pricing: Tickets are $15.00 a person, $12.00 for seniors 55 and over and free for current college students requesting rush tickets.


Where/When: ; Friday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Head down to the library for a concert of traditional Irish music with Larry Moser and Mary Nagin.
Pricing: Free to library cardholders.


Where/When: ; Saturday, 7:30 p.m.      
Why Go: Celebrate St. Patrick with hearty Irish food and great company.


Where/When: ; Saturday, (two one-hour sessions); 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Why Go: The American Red Cross hosts the Gabrielle Giffords Honorary Save-a-Life Saturday. This free events is to teach individuals the basics of hands-only CPR, the treatment of shock and how to treat wounds.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Long Island Children's Museum; Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m.
Why Go: “Circus Fun” is presented by Brooklyn film festival’s kidsfilmfest. Families can enjoy short films all about the circus with a tale about the love between a clown and dancer in “Sideshow” and go on an adventure with “Ruby Who?”.
Pricing: $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members), $8 theater only – Museum admission: $10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old.
