We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Family best bets:

When/where?: Feb. 23 and Feb. 24 with shows at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Why go?: This will be a performance done in English and Spanish.

Pricing: $4 with museum admission and $8 without.

When/where?: Feb. 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hillside Public Library.

Why go?: It's an opportunity to allow for some artistic expression.

When/where? At on Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Why go?: It's a service designed for children.

When/where? Daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Christopher Morley Park.

Why go? Not only does it include exercise but it's a way to be outdoors.

Pricing: Pricing for residents is as follows: $7 for adults, $5 child, $4 senior. For guests, it's $14 for adult, $10 child.

Getting a Sweet Treat from

Where/when? The bakery is open Mondays through Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m,; Sundays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why go? To enjoy some cookies, fruit tarts and other sweets.

Pricing: Varies.
