We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: Long Island Children’s Museum: Tuesdays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: In addition to the many exhibits and events at the Long Island Children’s Museum, KaleidoZone – Swirls, Waves and Puzzles features the interactive art of Alli Berman. Kids will be delighted with the fully interactive games.

Pricing: The exhibit is free with museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under one-year-old).

Where/When: The General Store is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: This store is packed full of colorful candy and toys with a retro vibe. A trip to Bobb Howard’s is a fun and inexpensive way to celebrate little achievements from the little ones.

Pricing: A range of prices starting at five cents.

EXPERIENCE THE GIANT SCREEN AT CRADLE OF AVIATION

Where/When: Dome Theater: Wednesday through Friday with various shows 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Playing this week: Legends of Flight, Sharks and Grand Canyon

Pricing: $10, Adults; $8, Child/Seniors

Where/When: , school room #12 on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why Go: Mommy and Me classes offer a great social, learning experience for Moms with little ones.

Where/When: , Fridays, 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Why Go: Iceland hosts Teen Night with a DJ, and the price is right.

Pricing: Admission is $7.
