Film crews are shooting a funeral scene inside and outside Garden City's Cathedral of the Incarnation.
Film crews have set up shop on the Cathedral of the Incarnation property to shoot a scene for the upcoming movie, "The Normal Heart" starring Matt Bomer, Mark Ruffalo, Alec Baldwin and Julia Roberts, Patch has confirmed.
The film, due to premiere sometime in 2014, is about a gay activist who attempts to raise HIV/AIDS awareness during the early 1980s. It is directed by Ryan Murphy and written by Larry Kramer, based on his own 1985 play of the same name.
The scene involves the funeral of one of the main characters. Shooting is taking place inside the cathedral as well as on the grounds.
According to a Cathedral spokeswoman, crews will be on the property Wednesday only.
