VIDEO: Hillside Library Remembers Palma Pursino

New shelf is posthumously dedicated to board member Palma Pursino.

 – or know to her friends as Pam – lived in the New Hyde Park community for over 30 years and was an avid supporter of the . Pursino was president of the Hillside Public Library board of trustee and was instramental in moving the library to its current location.

Pursino passed away on February 20, 2011 from gallbladder cancer. She was 58 years old. In her memory, the board has created a new shelf in the middle of the library, where a picture of her will remain to remind everyone of Pursino’s legacy at the library.
