Hillside Public Library 2011-12 Budget Passes

The 2011-12 budget  of $2,834,925 passed by a vote of 1235-680 on Tuesday.

The in the budget is salaries, which for approximately 35 employees went up $21,100 to $1,076,100. Two other sizable increases are $5,000 for health insurance and $6,040 for Social Security.

On top of passing the budget, voters elected Richard Bursig onto the board with a total of 83 votes. took over 's vacated seat on the board.

, who was a write-in candidate for a board seat, received 35 votes for library trustee.

Voting took place at school from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
