Hillside Public Library To Memorialize Palma Pursino

The library board is discussing what to do to honor their president.

The board of trustees are working on figuring out how to best memorialize Palma Pursino, the board's president who passed away Feb. 20. There was an empty chair at the Thursday board of trustees meeting between Vice President Maura Rossi and Trustee Ruth Bauer.

Rossi noted during the meeting that the board was going to be working on the budget the week that Pursino passed away.

Pursino was the only member of the board who's term was up this year, Rossi said. The board will not appoint anyone in her place; instead, if there is a deadlock with now four members of the board, Rossi will step out to create an uneven number.
