Jazz Chior Performs at Cohen’s Medical Center

Seaford students visit comes as father gets positive news on sick son a year after musical group lifted spirit with performance.

When  Jazz Choir performed last year at , the father of a sick 3-year-old boy thanked the musical group for giving him the opportunity to relax and take his mind off the stress while his son was being treated by doctors.

When the choir returned this year to perform, as well as distribute more than 100 toys for the children spending the holidays at the hospital, “the most amazing thing happened,” said choir director Yvonne Bendzlowicz.

“The father happened to be at the hospital for his son’s check up and told us he received a clean bill of health,” said Bendzlowicz of the Seaford choir's unique timing during its most recent visit. “His story exemplifies why we perform at the hospital....We were thrilled to learn that the little boy was better and that, in a small way, our music helped them get through a difficult time.”
