Long Island Hockey Cup Raises Money for Ronald McDonald House

Funds from competition to benefit families of children undergoing treatment.

Astoria Federal Savings recently joined in sponsoring the Ronald McDonald House Long Island’s Hockey Cup, which challenged four participating teams – the New York Apple Core, Suffolk Juniors, Long Island Royals and Metro Moose – to compete on the ice and support a great cause.

In the championship game held in January at the Nassau Coliseum, the Suffolk Juniors defeated the Long Island Royals to win the RMH-LI Cup.

The money raised from the event will assist The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families whose children are undergoing serious medical treatment at area hospitals.
