Long Island Railroad's Holiday Schedule
Here is how the trains are set be running over the holidays.
The Long Island Railroad is going to be running 14 extra trains going East from Penn Station on Christmas Eve, according to a notice from the Metropolitan Transit Authority. These extra trains will start running at 12:43 p.m. Of those additional trains, there will be a 2:29 p.m. train from Penn Station on the Port Jefferson line that will make stops at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica, and then continue onward with its regular stops to Huntington.
On Dec. 30 and New Year's Eve, there will also be 14 extra trains heading East from Penn Station. The added trains will start running at 12:43 p.m. and it will have the same 2:29 p.m. train from Penn Station on the Port Jefferson line that stops at New Hyde Park.
There will be 17 extra Westbound trains on New Year's Eve. Of those trains, Port Jefferson line passengers should take note of these from the MTA's notice:

- 6:59 p.m. train from Hicksville, local to Jamaica, Penn Station
- 7:10 p.m. train from Port Jefferson, local to Huntington, Hicksville, Jamaica, Penn Station
- 7:33 p.m. train from Hicksville, local to Jamaica, Penn Station
- 7:35 p.m. train from Huntington, local to Jamaica, Penn Station
- 8:25 p.m. train from Huntington, local to Jamaica, Penn Station
On Christmas and New Year's day, the trains will be running on a holiday schedule. For those who want to head East, trains will be coming through New Hyde Park at:

- 4:47 a.m.

- 6:23 a.m.
