Make Way for Goslings in North Hempstead

Goslings are out and about at Baxter Pond.

Springtime in Port Washington means you’ll find plenty of goslings around the peninsula. According to GeesePeace, a non-profit in Falls Church, Virginia, nesting season extends from mid-March to mid-May. Females lay about five eggs in a nest. About two or three months after they are hatched, the goslings can fly. Geese live to about age 20, and grow to as much as 20 to 25 pounds.
