Just hours before the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV on Sunday, the Long Beach Polar Bears Club held their in the ocean that drew an estimated 15,000 swimmers and spectators to Riverside Boulevard Beach in Long Beach. About 6,000 cold-water enthusiasts plunged into the frigid Atlantic during this event that raises funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which has its Long Island base in Lake Success.
