Talented Teen Auditions, Rango and Something Sweet — pick and choose from this week's array of events.

Welcome to our Grab & Go Kids Planner, a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities in the New Hyde Park area. Each week, we'll give you the info on the best family activities or events for the week. You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Here are this week's picks:

Where/When: The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island; 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Teens can audition to participate in the 4th Annual Teen Art, Music, and Poetry Festival that will raise funds for families in need.

Pricing: Auditions are free.

Where/When: ; Wednesday, 11 a.m.

Why Go: A fun program with playtime time for children accompanied by an adult.

Pricing: Free to library cardholders.

Where/When: Long Island Children's Museum; Wednesday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Kids can use basic shapes like triangles, squares and rectangles to create a collage.

Pricing: Free with museum admission. Museum admission is $10 for adults and children over one-year-old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under one year of age.

MOVIES AT HERRICKS CLEARVIEW CINEMAS

Where/When: ; Wednesday through Tuesday, showings at various times.

Why Go: The theater's nearby and there are discounted matinee shows.

Pricing: Adults: $10.75, child: $8.25 and seniors: $9.

Where/When: Long Island Children's Museum; Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Build a creative collage with some basic shapes at the museum.

Pricing: Free with museum admission.
