Fitness fanatics and members of Gang Green came together Tuesday afternoon when New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill descended upon the LA Fitness location on Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park for an autograph session.
Hill, who was there as part of a promotion with Gamma Labs, the makers of the PTF and G Fuel energy drinks, spent 3 hours talking with fans about football, fitness and how the Jets are doing this season.
Jets fans Chris Kassoff and Joe Arlotta were both at the signing, tweeting photos they took with Hill.
“Thanks for signing my football, your the man. Keep up the hard work,” Kassoff later tweeted to Hill.
Gang Green selected the 6’4” Georgia Tech graduate in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft with the 43rd overall pick.
Hill made an impressive debut in week 1 against Buffalo where he made 5 receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets 48-28 victory, but has been without a reception the last two games in a 27-10 loss to Pittsburg in week 2 and the 23-20 overtime win against Miami in which he dropped a touchdown pass in the endzone. Hill injured his hamstring in the game against the Dolphins and is considered “iffy” by head coach Rex Ryan for the Jets’ upcoming game against San Francisco on Sunday.
