Residents, patients and family members of in New Hyde Park enjoyed a spectacular Grandparents Day celebration on September 9.
The event, coordinated by Parker's Department of Therapeutic Recreation was an afternoon of live music, ice cream and other treats, and classic fairground attractions - including balloon artists, stilt walkers, a petting zoo, pony rides, and a dunk tank.
New York State Assemblyman David Weprin joined residents and visitors for special recognition of the institute's 14 centenarians, noting the critical importance of Parker to the community.
