Patch Picks: Spring Break Staycations

Looking for some ideas of activities you can do during the spring break? Here are some.

Spring break is coming and many families with the economy are not able to pack up and go somewhere. Staycations have become very popular as they are a great way to do some fun activities that you may not of thought of and keep the kids busy while still being close to home. The New Hyde Park Patch put together a list of some places here on Long Island that you can take your family.

Long Island Children’s Museum:  11 Davis Avenue, Garden City
Details:
The Children’s Museum is a great learning experience that gives the children many hands-on activities to take part in. They have exhibits and many experiments where the children can not only examine and play but try new things. Between the galleries, interactive theater performances, films and exhibitions there is something for everyone.

There is a Ralph’s Italian Ice shop and Pip’s Ice Cream Polar. In warm weather there is a miniature golf course. The boatyard and marina along the canal are fun to look at. Gift shops, cruises and charter fishing boats are also part of the attractions.
