Poll: Getting Ready for Snow

What do you do to make sidewalks safe?

People find all sorts of ways to make their sidewalks safer when it snows (other than shoveling.)

Some people like old-fashioned rock salt; others prefer ice melt, or kosher salt.

Still others throw down kitty litter.

With snow on the way Friday night, what's your plan? Vote in our poll.

The best way To save money not to buy rock salt, Ice melt and kitty litter to move to Florida. You don't have to worry to wast time to take the snow off the car and be late to go to work. Florida will be the place to move to.

Drew: I love Florida: in March. But I heard about those hideous bugs that spatter your windshields in April, and the mind-bending summer humidity. And the stream of endless tourists and snow birds, unable to drive the speed limit. I'll stick to Long Island.

Grew up in Plainview. Been in Florida 35 years; I don't care if I ever see snow again!
