Temple Tikvah Family Night: Islanders vs. Kings

Temple congregants as well as locals got to watch the two teams play.

For the second time this year, the Brotherhood of extended an invitation to members as well as local residents for a night out at the Nassau Coliseum to see the New York Islanders take on the Los Angeles Kings.

Before the game started, members feasted at the dinner buffet. Melissa Schreiber was one of the 35 members who took part in the event.

“The buffet was fun and it gave everybody a chance to relax and bond with other temple members,” she said.

Donald Panetta said that it was an opportunity to spend time outside of the Temple where most other events take place.

"The dinner was relaxing... [and] it gave us an opportunity to get to know some people that I normally would not have gotten together with," he said.

Both young and old members came out to show their spirit by wearing their favorite team colors. Other members New Hyde Park Patch spoke with say they enjoyed watching the game, felt the excitement being so close to the ice and had fun cheering the Isles to a victory.
