Temple Tikvah Rabbi Randy Sheinberg said the Temple has been hosting this luncheon for about eight years and that this is a good opportunity to give back. Several members of the Temple's Sisterhood volunteered to serve the attendees lunch and dessert.

"There are a lot of people who are in homes who now have somewhere they're invited and waited on," Sheinberg said.

Sheinberg said she loves the experience and can feel some of the attendees' spirits lifting as they sit down and take in the festivities. She likes that Temple people can go around from table to table and make connections.

"We're reaching out to people who are more forgotten than they should be," Sheinberg said.
