The Sundae Palace is Hopping
Easter is one of the nation's top chocolate-eating holidays.
By Easter, 500 Long Island chocolate bunnies will have found new homes, some as far away as Connecticut. How long they last is anybody’s guess.
The bunnies originated in the workshop of , a chocolate haven on Jericho Turnpike. The Sundae Palace is 33 years old; nearly four years ago, the business was taken over by three sisters – Aurora Hirschfeld, Gina Masi and Maria Masi. All three were born and raised in New Hyde Park.
The women and their staff prepare chocolates for the holidays (Christmas and Easter are neck-in-neck for their most popular) and special orders for parties utilizing milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate. Their products are nut-free.
