I Left My Love in Albany. But It's Okay. It's a Beautiful Memory.
Ian Lepkowsky

On Wednesday my girlfriend Michaella and I drove up to SUNY Albany. Actually, she did all of the driving. I don’t usually let people drive my car, but she had never driven herself to college before, and I knew she would love the opportunity. It was a smooth ride most of the way up there - minus the 30 min “We forgot to get gas before we left!” detour. I enjoyed the ride. It was nice not having to drive for a change. Plus, it was fun coaching my girlfriend on the drive. She was nervous about her first time going over bridges, going through tolls, being on the road for hours, etc., and I felt good supporting her.

Generator Season in Approaching. Are You Prepared?
Veronica Sympson Krendel

People spend an inordinate amount of time talking about the weather.  How good it is.  How bad it is. What it will be this afternoon, tomorrow, over the weekend.  I am pretty sure the advent of the Weather Channel and multiple weather-themed reality t.v. shows have helped turn a topic of general interest into a national obsession.  After our area was decimated by Hurricane Sandy, how could weather help but become a local obsession as well?  I know that I am paying attention to the weather reports now when before I never used to care what the weather forecast was.

Don't Wait Until Eight To Teach Your Kids About Money
Brian Cohen

While we all know it is important that as parents we teach our children about money, often we either don’t at all or delay it because it’s an uncomfortable subject, or we just aren’t sure how to do it. However, while I personally have known it is important, I was very surprised to read recent research that says that our approach to money is basically set by age 7. "The window is zero to 7," said Guy Shone, research director for the British government's Money Advice Service, which published the study. "It's very hard to reverse those habits later in life."

Hysterectomies in This Day and Age

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus.  There are many reasons to have this surgical procedure, and the decision to undergo a hysterectomy must never be made lightly.  Today, the decisions are becoming more complicated as the surgical techniques change and more options are available.
