Town Crews Pursuing Rogue Deer Near Clinton Martin Park

A wild deer is currently scampering around the New Hyde Park area according to eyewitnesses and the .

The 4-point buck was spotted Wedneday at noon in the area of by the Schumacher house by a group of 5 senior tennis players.

Animal control specialists from the Town of North Hempstead were called to the scene in the hopes of capturing the animal using tranquilizers and relocating it, but the buck scampered off before it could be captured.

Currently, crews are chasing the animal around the vicinity, with the animal reportedly in the Herricks area at about Old Farm Road.
