A Mid-Summer's Night Viewing Reception of the New Modern Art Exhibit from the Collection at the Great Neck Arts Center

A mid-summer's night viewing reception with complimentary wine and cheese.

The Great Neck Arts Center (GNAC) showcases a new exhibit of 20th century art. It opens July 7 and runs through October 9, 2011.

View the progression of art in the 20th century. The exhibition includes pieces created out of Modern Art movements such as Cubism, Surrealism, Minimalism and Pop Art. Highlights of the exhibition include pieces by Joan Miró, Henri Matisse, and Alberto Giacometti. The exhibition also includes etchings from Chaim Gross and a display of rare vintage posters including those of Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. Posters had been a popular source for advertising throughout the century. A number of the posters were once used as promotional tools for gallery exhibitions in Paris and New York.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
