New Hyde Park Students Earn Art Certificates

Artwork part of annual Garden Art Studio show at Mineola Library.

is having their annual art show at the Walter and Joan Hobbs Art Gallery in the for the month of June.

Among the students having their work displayed are New Hyde Park sixth grader Claudia V. and Ryan W. who both earned certificates from the school.

“I like art classes here because I have a lot of ideas and things I want to draw and this helps me do that,” second grader Ryan said.

Joining them are sister’s Tara and Hanna F. of Albertson.

“I love coming to the studio because I love to paint pictures and share it with my new friends here,” Hannah, a second grader, said. “I also love hearing the funny stories Miss Lisa shares especially the ones about her cats!”

The awards and reception for all the budding artists will be held on June 25.

The Garden Art Studio in Mineola has been around since 1994 and has workshops all year round for serious young artist ages 6-17 from beginner to advance in all mediums.

This year two full college scholarships where awarded to studio students, whose work will be also be on display.
