Angelina's Fireshack Working on Expansion Plans

The business had its grand opening on Saturday and is attempting to branch out.

Owner Shai Eapen said during the business' grand opening on Saturday morning that he is working on plans to make Angelina's a franchise and to open up another location in New Hyde Park.

During the , Eapen noted that Angelina's is named after his daughter and that perhaps his next spots need to be named after his other daughter and child on the way. For now though Eapen is looking at locations in East Meadow and Westchester to expand Angelina's and he would like to open up a dessert-centered place in New Hyde Park. The tentative name for the new dessert spot, which Eapen said would be more of a takeout restaurant, is Root Canal.

"New Hyde Park will always be home; where it started," Eapen said.

Eapen expressed confidence in his product during the grand opening ceremony, noting that "the real heat is not in Miami but in New Hyde Park."

This heat he's referring to comes from some of the menu items like their wings.

Eapen thanked the , , the Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce and other people who helped to make the business opening possible.

"We'll do you proud," Eapen said. "The food revolution is starting in New Hyde Park."

People who attended the grand opening were treated to french fries, pizza, drinks, airbrushed tattoos, t-shirts and bags.

There was a sign on the business' front door made up by a local child who has been to the restaurant. Renz Mathew, manager, noted that there were several other signs made by local children.

"We didn't anticipate this kind of love from the community," he said.
