Bell Foods Rings In Its Grand Opening

A new grocery store opened on Hillside Avenue.

Bell Foods, a new grocery store on Hillside Avenue off of Herricks Avenue, had its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 18 complete with a red ribbon that said "grand opening" and giant scissors.

Approximately 25 people from the grocery store and the attended the event held at 4:00 p.m. Bell Foods is part of the Associated chain of supermarkets.

Tony Kumar, one of the Bell Foods' officers, described the supermarket as upscale and complete with a salad bar, sushi bar, fresh bakery, cafe that seats 20 people, free Wi-Fi and two aisles of international food. These aisles feature Italian, Irish and Asian food, which Kumar said reflects the population in the area.

Bell Foods is on the same block as and Met Foodmarket, two other grocery stores.
