Biz News: First-Ever Coupon Printing Parking Meter

Businesses making headlines in our area this week.

Rockville Centre will soon host the world’s first-ever parking meters that print coupons for local stores. The village partnered with meter company Parkeon and MasterCard for the 10 units, which will replace standing meters on Park Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to College Place in the next two weeks. Read more and watch a video here.

South Nassau Gets $6.6M for Urgent Care Centre in Long Beach

South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside received a $6.6 million federal grant to rebuild an urgent care center at Long Beach Medical Center, which has remained closed despite having been rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy heavily damaged the bayside facility nearly a year ago, Gov. The vacant former All State office on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park is set to reopen as a small local pharmacy. The office located at 2226 Jericho Turnpike, with its All State logo-laden awnings blacked-out, has been vacant for the past year. Read more here.
