Carvel Holds Grand Opening in Garden City Park

Ice cream giant opens new Garden City Park franchise in Waldbaum’s shopping center.

When the weather is freezing and there’s ice on the ground often the last thing on anybody’s mind is ice cream. The cold weather and snow may have put a damper on a lot of things but not one local entrepreneur’s ambition as proven with the opening of their new Carvel.

A grand opening was held on Jan. 26 for the new store with Long Island’s 98.3 KJOY there to broadcast the celebration. The new store is located on Jericho Turnpike in the shopping center alongside Mama Theresa’s and Waldbaum’s and across the street from Uncle Bacala’s.

The spacious location was the previous home to Yogurt & Such and offers all the brand staples of regular and soft serve ice cream, cakes and individual treats.

The elongated store space has plenty of room for a birthday or any party that wants to be ice cream-centric. While most ice cream stores have the ice cream and their many flavors front and center this location keeps the space divided equally between toppings, ice cream and treats.

The topping selection is a bit larger than the average Carvel location.

After numerous requests for an interview the owners could not be reached for comment.
