Designatronics Moving to Hicksville

Garden City Park-based manufacturer moving 240-plus jobs to larger space in Hicksville.

Designatronics will be moving its headquarters along with nearly 240 jobs to Hicksville after approval of a Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) economic development agreement.

The Garden City Park-based high-technology manufacturer is currently located at 2101 Jericho Turnpike on the corner of Denton Avenue. It is adding 20 new employees at the new Hicksville location. The expansion is expected to generate $217 million in economic benefits for Nassau’s economy, according to a county press release.

Designatronics will consolidate its operations at an industrial building located at 250 Duffy Ave. in Hicksville, purchasing and renovating the existing 100,000-sq. ft. space at a cost of $11.25 million. They are currently in 98,000-sq. ft. of leased spaces.

The IDA will provide tax relief on the Hicksville property in the form of a 15 year PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) at the current rate as well as sales and use tax exemption on construction / renovation material and furniture, fixtures and equipment.

Founded in 1960, Designatronics currently manufactures and distributes small mechanical, electro-mechanical motion control components and sub-assemblies, selling to original equipment manufacturers and equipment users in medical, office equipment, plant maintenance, electronics, computer, communications and other industries through subsidiaries.
